Framing Classes

The essay by Diana Kendall, Framing Class, made clearer the role that the media has played in the view we have in this country of class. The way she showed how the classes are portrayed on TV was really interesting. It makes sense the statement that all networks are profit driven and that leads to a view of reality that in not real. The networks need to make money so the shows that they choose to air are more for the advertisers and not necessarily to inform or help us. They want us to buy the things we see on these shows or create a need for them. It is trying to keep up with the “Jones” or the higher class and I guess and it works. We do go into debt over the things we see and then buy what we may be able to do without.
