The March of the Flag

The speech by Albert Beveridge is a spirited call for over seas colonialism. I enjoyed hearing his passion in his speech, to expand the influence of America all over the world. His comparisons to other super powers of the times and America’s necessity to follow their lead is repeated throughout the speech. I don’t feel that most people would agree with his speech today. History has shown us what happens when local people are dominated by a foreign power. However, to spread our freedoms to others in foreign lands sounds like a great idea.
